Terms and Conditions for Clip & Style Dog Grooming

1. Agreement to Terms

By scheduling an appointment or utilising any services provided by Clip & Style Dog Grooming ("Clip & Style"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including any policies referenced herein. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our services.

2. Services Offered

Clip & Style provides professional dog grooming services, including but not limited to bathing, trimming, styling, nail clipping, ear cleaning, spa treatments and other grooming services as agreed upon between Clip & Style and the client.

3. Appointment Scheduling

Appointments can be scheduled via the Tuft App, phone, email, Text or Whatsapp. We encourage clients to schedule appointments in advance to ensure availability. Last minute appointments may be accommodated based on availability but should not be relied on. Availability will be posted on our facebook page.

4. Deposits, Cancellations and Rescheduling

A deposit is required to secure your appointment. This deposit is non-refundable.

If you need to reschedule, at least 48 hours’ notice is required. With sufficient notice, your deposit can be transferred to a new appointment date.

Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or failure to attend the appointment, will result in the loss of the deposit.

5. No-Show Policy

Clients who fail to show up for a scheduled appointment without prior notice ("no-show") may be subject to a no-show fee of 100% of the appointment (to include the pre-paid non refundable deposit) If the appointment fee is not paid in full when requested, you will no longer be able to book an appointment with Clip & Style.

 

6. Time Keeping

We work to a strict appointment only schedule. Please arrive on time for drop off and collection.  We are unable to take the next dog in until yours is collected. You will be given a time to collect at drop off, or you will receive a text at an interval discussed, with a collection time. If you are more than 15 minutes late to an appointment we reserve the right to refuse service, or the right to offer a maintenance groom in place of a full groom. The Charge will be for the appointment originally booked.  Late collections will be charged at £5 per 15 minutes. Should the next appointment need to be cancelled due to your lateness, a flat fee of £50 will be charged.

7. Groom Duration

Collection times are given in good faith, however Clip & Style will not be liable for any delay in completion of a groom.

Grooms that require additional time due to matting/aggression/nervousness will receive an additional charge.

8. Health and Safety

Clip & Style prioritises the health and safety of all pets in our care. By booking, clients are acknowledging their dog is healthy enough for a groom. Grooming of dogs is entirely at the owner's risk.  Dogs who are presenting with vomiting, diarrhoea or coughs will be refused service. It is your responsibility to ensure your dog is up to date with vaccinations, and flea and worm prevention. We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet showing signs of illness or aggression. We do not accept any liability if your dog has a reaction to any of the products or treats used, however please do let us know of any irritation so we can tailor future appointments to minimise this.

9. Groomer Safety

Please notify us prior to the appointment of any aggression/behavioural issues your dog may have. We are at liberty to use a muzzle on your dog should we feel at risk. We reserve the right to refuse to accept or terminate a groom (at any given point) with a particularly aggressive dog.

10. Accidents

Unfortunately accidents in grooming salons do occur, due to working with very sharp equipment and dogs which move around. Whilst every precaution will be taken, if this does happen we will administer first aid, if we feel your dog needs a vet will take them there. This may be an emergency appointment if we deem it necessary. Clip & Style will not be liable for any costs incurred.

11. Ear Plucking and Anal Glands

Clip and Style will not express anal glands on any dog. We feel this is strictly a vet only procedure.

We will only pluck ears if specifically requested on regular clients.  We will only pluck from the ear opening and will not go further into the canal. We will only pluck if tolerated by the dog, and will cease plucking if the dog appears uncomfortable. We will not be liable for any infection or repercussion following ear plucking or by not plucking.

On dogs with hairy ears that we are not plucking, we will shave as much hair as possible away from the ear opening as possible, for as long as the dog tolerates.

12. Fleas and Ticks

If your dog is found to have fleas or ticks without prior communication of the possibility, an additional £20 will be added to the total groom price. This is to cover the cost of treating the salon to avoid cross contamination between canine clients.

If we have prior communication regarding the possibility of fleas, we will try to arrange a time where there are no other dogs in the salon and at the end of the day (so we are able to treat the salon immediately) We will also use a specialised shampoo to aid in eradication. There will be an additional charge of £15.  If we are unable to do this we reserve the right to refuse service until the pet is free of parasites.

13. Matted Coat Policy

For the safety and well-being of the dog, Clip & Style reserves the right to refuse grooming services for dogs with severely matted coats. Additional charges may apply for dematting & Clip off  services. Please see additional Matted Coat Policy. By accepting these terms and conditions you are also accepting this additional matted coat policy.  

14. Liability

While every effort is made to ensure the safety and well-being of all pets in our care, Clip & Style shall not be held liable for any injuries, illnesses, or damages that may occur during or as a result of grooming services.

15. Payment

Payment for grooming services is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed upon. We accept cash or cards. Prices are subject to change without notice. Any additional charges are the responsibility of the client and are also due at the time of service.

Late payments will incur a daily fee and a refusal of service.

16. Satisfaction Guarantee

Clip & Style strives for customer satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with the grooming services provided, please notify us within 24 hours, and we will work to resolve any issues to your satisfaction. We welcome feedback, but require this to be done privately and not on social media.  

17. Photographs

All dogs may be photographed during their appointments. You are agreeing for Clip & Style to publish and use these photos in print and electronic formats such as social media, publications and videos.  You will not receive any compensation for the use of these photographs or videos.

18. Termination of Services

Clip & Style reserves the right to refuse or terminate services to any client at any time for any reason, including but not limited to non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions or disruptive behaviour.

19. Amendments

Clip & Style reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any revisions to these Terms and Conditions.

Matted Coat Policy

 

We appreciate that even a well cared for coat can have a few small knots and tangles however, in the event of more substantial matting an extra charge will be applied.  This will be at the discretion of your groomer.  

 

Clip & Style adhere to go above and beyond of the animal welfare act 2006, which states that is an offense to cause animals pain or discomfort, and we reserve the right to refuse to do anything that we think may be detrimental to your pets well being. This includes attempting any de-matting when we think it is in your pets best interest that the coat is clipped off short. Be assured that all at Clip & Style will always put your pets' welfare first.

 

Your pets welfare is our number 1 priority. When presented with a matted dog, we adopt the stance of “Humanity over Vanity.” This means that no matter the end result of the groom, we will do everything possible to ensure your dog's welfare needs are met and they are comfortable.

 

In certain circumstances it will be within your pets best interest to shave the entire coat off with a short blade. We understand this may not be your first choice of hair cut, but we will always advocate for the dog's welfare needs. The good news is it will grow again and we can work together towards a style more to your liking.  Your groomer may suggest coming back for an appointment before you think the coat will have grown “enough”, this is to attempt to maintain the coat enough to achieve the desired haircut. Advice on at home maintenance is always available, please just ask.

 

We endeavor to discuss any matting at drop off; however, at times, bad matting close to the skin is not revealed until the bathing and drying process. In the event this happens we will try to contact you to discuss. However, if we are unable to reach you at this time we will act in the dog's best interest and may clip off the coat on a very short blade.  You will be liable for any charges incurred.

 

Prevention is better than the cure, so don't wait until your dog is knotted and matted again, prebook regular appointments with Clip & Style so your dog can look and feel good!
